Diamondback Unveils Its First Ebike Line

Speedy Bosch-powered Class 3 bikes for urban and adventure riding

Diamondback’s new Union commuter ebike has pedal assist up to 28 mph, as does the rest of the introductory electric line.Diamondback

Diamondback is bringing some muscular pedal assist to its line with a new offering of commuter and adventure ebikes to complement its spring 2021 collection of non-electric mountain, road, tri, and gravel bikes.

Historically a BMX and, later, mountain bike label, Diamondback is now part of the Alta Cycling Group portfolio of bike brands, which also include full-line supplier Raleigh and ebike specialty players Haibike and iZip.

The drop-bar Current model is intended for both on- and off-road adventures.Diamondback

“Ebike technology may be relatively new to Diamondback, but it’s not unfamiliar to the brand in the least. The addition of ebikes to Diamondback’s long-standing roster of ‘acoustic’ bikes marks an exciting change and the beginning of a new era for the classic brand,” Diamondback stated.

All four of the introductory ebikes are equipped with Bosch’s Performance Line Speed mid-drive motor.Diamondback

The four-model Diamondback ebike line consists of three flat-bar bikes and one drop-bar model. All boast Class 3 pedal assist up to 28 mph via Bosch’s Performance Line Speed mid-drive motor (85Nm of max torque) and Bosch PowerTube 400Wh or 500Wh batteries (depending on model) integrated into the 6061-T6 aluminum frames’ downtubes.

The Response is outfitted with a RockShox Judy Gold suspension fork with 120 millimeters of travel.Diamondback
