Controversial statement: Ebikes tend to be heavy.
Yep, we said it. Chips, fall where you may.
But yes, motors and batteries obviously pack the poundage on an electric bicycle. And if you like to transport your ebikes by car, you’ll need to make sure your rack for carrying said ebikes can safely and securely handle the payload. You also might need some help just getting that 50-, 60-, 70-pound (gasp!) ebike up on the rack in the first place.

Designed specifically for ebikes (and for 2-inch hitch receivers only), Hollywood Racks’ new Destination E hitch rack looks to address the aforementioned needs, and more.
The Destination E is rated to carry two ebikes up to 70 pounds each. “But can the trays fit my fat-tire bike?” you might be asking. Yep. Tires up to 4.5 inches wide fit the Destination just fine.
Hollywood includes a 46-inch-long ramp with the Destination, enabling users to roll their bikes up into the trays rather than lift them from the ground. Some brands sell similar ramps as add-on accessories, so it’s nice to see Hollywood offer one as standard equipment with its rack.
Bikes are secured with a pair of keyed-alike locking frame grabbers (which can alternatively secure the bike at the seatpost) and at the wheels with pairs of ratcheting straps. The trays are spaced 11 inches apart to create clearance when carrying two bikes.
The rack folds up flat against the back of the car when not in use. When the rack is loaded, a separate pivot between the bike trays creates an even balance point and allows the bikes to be tilted down more easily to access a car’s trunk or hatchback. Other hitch racks we’ve used have only a pivot inboard of the two trays, so the pivot point is tilting down double the load compared with the Destination.
A locking hitch pin is keyed alike with the frame grabbers, and the rack attaches to the hitch receiver via Hollywood’s “No-Wobble Hitch System” designed to eliminate slack without the use of tools.
The Destination E weighs 46 pounds, comes with a lifetime warranty, and sells for $699.99.
