In January, US-Spanish startup brand Crow Bicycles announced its intention to launch a line of aluminum and carbon fiber pedal-assist gravel bikes on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, teasing the all-road ebikes with a handful of cryptic photos. That launch arrived today, with discounts of 20 to 30 percent for campaign backers. Crow also announced today that backers ordering with the crowdfunding effort’s first 48 hours will receive an additional 6 percent off post-campaign pricing.
“Crow Bicycles will build a bridge between core purists and those who want the benefit of electric assistance by providing a premium performance bike that operates comfortably in both worlds,” Crow founder and CEO David Toledo said. “Our mission is to disrupt the industry with a premium-quality, performance e-gravel bike that seamlessly enhances human power output.”
Crow Bicycles launches with four models—two carbon, two aluminum—spec’d with the lightweight and removable Fazua Evation drive system (250W motor, 252Wh battery), carbon forks, hydraulic disc brakes, and Ritchey cockpit components and tires. The Fazua combination drive/battery pack can be removed and replaced with an empty case to convert to non-electric use. Total bike weights range from 30.2 to 32.9 pounds.
Crow is offering 50 units of each of the four models during the Indiegogo campaign, with shipping expected in November 2021. A quick rundown of the introductory line (available in four sizes, S to XL), from lowest to highest price:
